Meet Katie

I am a lifelong lover of science, nature, and rocks. I took a serious interest in gemstones and crystals in my early teens. Life’s wayward path eventually led me to an amazing career as a jewelry shop assistant, where my role developed into a jewelry photographer. I spent ten years working under award-winning master goldsmith & designer Stacey Krantz of InBloom Jewelry. The experience proved invaluable as I learned the many faceted roles and hard work necessary to run a small business.

The sparkle of the gemstones captured my attention and after a few years of photographing them in Stacey’s beautiful jewelry, I knew I wanted to cut my own gems. I began practicing gem faceting in early 2024. Each stone is unique and tells a small part of the story of the formation of our earth. I am ceaselessly captivated by nature’s divine workings. I am also equally amazed (and sometimes a bit scared) by humankind’s ingenuity and very much enjoy working with lab created stones. Laboratory created gems are structurally identical to their natural counterparts and can offer a variety of options that may otherwise be out of reach for many.

Looking to the future, my aim is always on the practice of the finest precision and techniques. I hope to expand my skills to gem carving, designing and creating new types of treasures never seen before!
